Braulio’s second casting begins at Valencia | OneFootball

Having replaced Carlos Corberán by appointing Javier Aguirre, Braulio Vázquez has moved to phase two, assembling his backroom team at Valencia.

He arrived alone, with former Osasuna lieutenant Cata Prieto staying in Pamplona, and now needs a deputy in Valencia. Tribuna Deportiva reports that he wants this aide working alongside him in Paterna.

The plan points to the end of a far-flung scouting network built under Lisandro Isei. In its place, Braulio intends to run a more traditional technical secretariat, supported by scouts feeding the sporting department.

He has clear profiles and a set budget, much as in the coaching search he conducted with Óscar Sánchez providing cover. The first name linked is Domingo Catoira, his former right-hand at Valencia from 2010 to 2014, now at River Plate since June with Pablo Longoria, which makes a swift return to Europe seem difficult, though not impossible.

An internal option well regarded at the club is Manu Ruz. The former Valencia full-back worked under Miguel Ángel Corona and later as Isei’s right-hand, and Braulio has already spoken to him about serving as technical secretary or continuing as a leading scout. Further candidates are under consideration, some contracted elsewhere and others unattached.
