D.C. United have confirmed the signing of striker Tai Baribo from Philadelphia Union for a reported $4 million fee.

Baribo scored 35 times in just over two seasons with Philadelphia, including 16 league goals in last season's Supporters' Shield-winning campaign.
The Israel international also won the Top Scorer Award during the 2024 Leagues Cup after scoring seven goals in six matches for the Union.
Baribo will occupy a designated player spot in D.C., replacing former DP Christian Benteke, after his contract option was declined by the club following their dismal MLS campaign.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, will be hoping they can build on their 2025 regular season success without their top scorer. In Baribo's absence, the Union will likely proceed with Milan Iloski and Bruno Damiani up front next season.
