Brentford are said to be weighing a late move for Archie Gray, with Keith Andrews seeking reinforcements for a European push.

Spurs were thrashed by Brentford on opening day, then lost 2-0 at Newcastle on Saturday. Gray kept his place at right-back and Micky Van de Ven again wore the armband.

Goals from Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa have also contributed to recent defeats for Roberto De Zerbi's side, adding to an unwanted personal run for Gray.

Saturday marked his 39th Spurs start and his 29th defeat since leaving Leeds in 2024, with only six wins in that time.

Late interest from Brentford has been reported two years after they saw him slip from their grasp when he joined Spurs.

Spurs are said to want to keep the 20-year-old, having turned down an approach from Newcastle earlier in the summer, and the club are likely to keep a firm not-for-sale stance.

In May, Roberto De Zerbi praised Gray as very young with big potential, said he was sure the youngster can become the future of the club and its captain, and stressed the need to settle on a position. He added that staff are working with him in individual meetings using clips.
