Bees ready for another battle with the Dockers

Newhaven are no strangers to Brentford following two games against the Dockers last season.

The Bees came out on top in both meetings, with a 4-0 win early in the 2025/26 season, before following it up with a 5-1 victory away from home later in the campaign.

Brentford have started 2026/27 with back-to-back successes and head coach Williams can’t wait for her team to have another opportunity to showcase their talents at the Gtech in September.

“We’re really excited as a group of players and staff to be coming back to the Gtech so early in our season and to hopefully continue to build our fanbase and inspire little girls and boys,” she said.

“It’s obviously a great venue and the pinnacle of what being a Brentford player is and it means so much to everyone to be able to play one of our first league games at the Gtech.”

Looking at the challenges Newhaven present, Williams said the Dockers would prove a tough opponent.

“Newhaven have been in Tier 5 for a while now and they have recruited over the summer. It’s very early in the season but they’ve picked up some good results,” she explained.

“We expect them to be a young, athletic side with a never give up attitude. That’s what we saw from them last season, so we don’t expect any less from them this season.

“For us, we’re really happy that Newhaven are coming to play us at the Gtech. Hopefully they will bring fans to support them and feel our community spirit and what Brentford is about.”

Williams praised the fans for their ongoing support and encouraged them to join the side at the Gtech come 27 September.

“We want to give all fans a great experience, we want to inspire all girls and boys in local communities and beyond,” she said.

“Having over 4,000 of you supporting us last season was amazing, we want to push that, we want to see how big we can grow, we want to see how many of you we can get down there to push us forward and be that 12th player on the pitch.”

Second home at the Gtech

Brentford Women have quickly built an impressive record at the Gtech, winning four of their five outings since the historic first appearance at the ground in November 2022, in front of a 5,116 strong crowd.

Wins over Ashmount Leigh, Clapton Community and Bromley followed, the latter being a big step towards that season’s LSE Division One North title and subsequent promotion to Tier 5.

Help us to break the attendance record for our first outing at the Gtech this season. Bring the noise and energy to support the Bees.
