WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this evening.
The 26-year-old joined Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2024 following a spell with Barclays WSL2 club Sheffield United. Injuries have restricted Rayner’s progress with the Sussex club, although she has made 10 appearances.
It is fair to say that Rayner hasn’t yet reached her full potential at Brighton & Hove Albion but she will now get more time to showcase her qualities after signing a contract extension with the club.
After extending Rayner’s deal, Brighton & Hove Albion’s women’s and girls’ managing director, Zoe Johnson said “Bex has had a challenging time since joining the club because of injury but her dedication and resilience throughout that period have been clear.
“She’s a technically gifted player on the pitch and her character and professionalism off the pitch are a real asset to the squad.
“She’s worked hard following her injury to make sure she can contribute to the second half of the season. We’re excited to see what the future holds for her with us, and we’re delighted that Bex has committed her future to the club.”
Brighton & Hove Albion are next in action on Sunday afternoon when they face London City Lionesses at Broadfield Stadium.
