Brighton loanee Nils Ramming drew praise after a standout display as Rochdale claimed a 3-0 home win over Shrewsbury Town and their first points of the EFL campaign.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, head coach Ian Watson acknowledges he is asking plenty of the young loanee. Ramming has started every match on Rochdale’s EFL return.

Rochdale were pointless after three fixtures, but midweek brought a clean sheet and victory. Despite the margin, Ramming produced several important stops, notably denying Will Boyle, and he looked composed in the build-up.

Ramming joined on a season-long loan in the summer, following the route previously taken by Robert Sanchez.

Watson said he was thrilled with the shutout and highlighted a superb left leg save. He described Ramming as talented and brave with the team’s approach, while accepting they ask him to do a lot. He also praised the keeper’s shot-stopping.

Born in London, Ramming developed at Eintracht Frankfurt after his family moved to Germany. He joined Albion last summer, featuring for the under-21s and training with the senior group. Fellow Albion under-21s right-back Charlie Tasker is also on a season loan at Rochdale.
