Brighton's Boscagli named on Zidane's France longlist | OneFootball

Olivier Boscagli is in contention for a France call after a standout start to the season under Fabian Hurzeler at Brighton.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, the Albion defender is understood to be on a preliminary longlist compiled by new boss Zinedine Zidane.

The list will be cut on Friday before Nations League fixtures away to Türkiye and Belgium, then at home to Italy and Belgium at the Stade de France.

Boscagli found minutes hard to come by last season but has become a key figure, featuring in central defence, at left-back and as a deep-lying midfielder.

Hurzeler has highlighted that no one is undroppable and that selection depends on daily standards. He believes Boscagli has adapted to the Premier League, learned from last season and is showing it week by week, which pleases him.

Zidane’s defensive options are also said to include Liverpool’s Jeremy Jacquet, who looks set for a first call-up after being named on the initial list.
