Frank Lampard’s price to be the next Premier League managerial departure has been cut after Brighton crushed Coventry 5-0.
According to TheArgus.co.uk, Betfair now make the Coventry manager 10/3 from 14/1 to be the second Premier League manager to leave during the 2026-27 season, while Manchester United’s Michael Carrick is 11/2 from 17/2 after defeat in the Manchester Derby despite a man advantage.
The Seagulls scored four times in the second half to complete the 5-0 scoreline, leaving the Sky Blues pointless, goalless and bottom of the early table.
Lampard guided Coventry back to the Premier League last season as Championship winners. Some home fans sang defiantly, although many had left before full time.
Brighton’s head coach played down the result, crediting some luck and their goalkeeper.
Brighton visit Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Their FA Cup win at the same ground in January hastened Carrick’s appointment in place of stand-in Darren Fletcher.
