The west Londoners were looking to continue their impressive league form as they had not lost in the PDL since a defeat to Sheffield United in August.
It was an even start to the game as both sides enjoyed short periods of possession without creating anything of note in the opening 10 minutes.
Gustavo Nunes had the away side's first shot on goal as he chopped his defender and fizzed an effort goalwards which was parried well.
On 30 minutes, the deadlock was broken as Paris Maghoma and Owen combined on the edge of the box, with the latter carrying the ball confidently into the area and then finding the finish to match.
The lead should have been doubled soon after as Myles Peart-Harris was played in on goal but Josey Casa-Grande made an unbelievable stop to deny the attacker.

The second half saw the away side start the quicker of the two teams and Iwan Morgan should have scored from close range but his left-footed shot went wide.
Second-half substitute Ethan Laidlaw was then found by Morgan but he skewed his shot wide of the post.
On 56 minutes, the home side levelled the scores as Brentford's failure to clear in the box allowed Victor Akinbo the chance to flick his effort into the net.
A superb cross from Ollie Shield found Morgan in the box but the striker could not find the finish to put his side back ahead.
With 15 minutes left, Akinbo grabbed his second of the game, racing clear and smashing past Reggie Rose in the Brentford net to put the Robins ahead.
That proved to be the winner, as the home side made the most of their chances, showing clinical finishing when it mattered.
The young Bees are next in action on Tuesday 4 November as they travel to south-east London to take on Charlton Athletic.
