Nathaniel Brown’s transfer to FC Bayern is complete. After weeks of negotiations, the final details have now been ironed out—with Eintracht Frankfurt securing a key condition.

FC Bayern has successfully completed the transfer of Nathaniel Brown. After officials from the record-holding champions and Eintracht Frankfurt had already reached a basic agreement in mid-June on a total package worth 55 million euros, intensive negotiations were held recently regarding the exact composition of the transfer fee.

An agreement has now finally been reached. As reported by BILD, both clubs have agreed on a fixed transfer fee of 50 million euros, plus an additional five million euros in potential bonus payments.

Frankfurt insisted on a high fixed transfer fee

The sticking point in the talks was reportedly the guaranteed transfer fee. According to the report, Frankfurt made it a condition that at least 50 million euros be paid as a fixed amount.

Bayern initially wanted to structure a larger portion of the transfer fee as performance-based bonus payments. However, as Wednesday progressed, the Munich club backed down from this position and accepted Frankfurt’s demand.

Despite the renegotiations, the report states that the transfer was never seriously in jeopardy internally. Throughout the talks, both clubs assumed that the deal would be successfully concluded.

Brown signs through 2031

Brown now faces the final formal steps. Since the left back is currently with the German national team at the World Cup in the U.S., he is expected to undergo his medical exam right there on site.

The 23-year-old will then sign his contract with FC Bayern. The contract runs through 2031.

At the German record champions, Brown is by no means intended to be just a backup player. Coach Vincent Kompany believes the national team player can play a key role on the left side of the defense. With his strong performances at the World Cup, Brown has further cemented his status and definitively established himself as one of the most exciting German fullbacks.

Following the signing of Ismael Saibari, FC Bayern has thus secured its next major summer transfer and prevailed over several high-profile competitors in the race to sign Brown.
