Dodi Lukebakio could still leave Benfica before the window shuts, with Besiktas exploring a permanent move.
According to L'Équipe, the Istanbul club would be willing to enter talks with Benfica in the coming days over a fee of around €20 million.
Bruno Andrade, speaking on CNN Portugal, characterised Besiktas as a kind of firefighter for Portuguese sides, particularly Benfica, in recent years.
He cited the strong relationship between the clubs, pointing to deals involving Rafa and Gedson Fernandes, the loan of Jurasek, and Kokçu being sold for more than Benfica paid.
Lukebakio, a Belgium international with 33 caps, joined a year ago and is under contract until June 2030.
He may depart after a campaign in which he scored one goal in 33 appearances.
