Burnley delivered a stunning first-half comeback at Selhurst Park to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 and finally end their miserable Premier League run.
Scott Parker’s side, winless in 16 league matches, looked in serious trouble when Jorgen Strand Larsen struck twice to hand Palace control. He first latched onto Adam Wharton’s clever through ball to fire past Martin Dubravka, then added a second with a fine header from Jefferson Lerma’s cross.
Up to that point, Burnley had offered very little. But the contest turned on its head before the interval. Hannibal Mejbri started the fightback, sweeping home from Marcus Edwards’ pull-back. Jaidon Anthony then drilled in at the near post to level matters, despite Palace appeals for handball in the build-up.
In stoppage time of the first half, Bashir Humphreys’ header was pushed onto Lerma and into the net for an own goal.
Palace pressed after the break, but couldn’t find a way through as Burnley held on for a vital win, though they remain nine points from safety.
