According to Polish publication Meczyki, Burnley are ready to make a big seven-figure bid for Regula, who shone in the Ekstraklasa last season.

Regula has begun this campaign for Zagłębie Lubin in fine fashion, just as he ended last year, and now, the 19-year-old could be set to collect his side a club-record fee before the end of the summer window, with Burnley lingering.

Regula, 19, made his first-team professional debut in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring once and grabbing three assists in just nine games, before becoming a regular fixture last season.

Capable of playing anywhere across the frontline, Regula deputising in attacking-midfielder, right-midfield, and even as a centre-forward on occasion for Zagłębie Lubin last season, scoring five and assisting three in 31 league appearances.

Burnley rescued a draw after falling behind 2-0 at home on the opening day, with Zian Flemming's late brace giving the Clarets a point to begin their reign under Belgian boss Nicky Hayen.

Hayen has made four additions since he arrived from Genk, namely Ugo Raghouber, Ben Amos, Max Alleyne, and Dastan Satpaev, as the 46-year-old looks to continue to stamp his authority at Turf Moor with further additions, as Regula could be next in line, though they do face competition from German outfit 1.FC Koln.

Football League World have recently exclusively revealed that Burnley have joined Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion in the race for free agent Will Smallbone this summer, too, as Hayen continues his hunt for further reinforcements.

There have been exits aplenty in Lancashire this summer, with a huge portion of the Burnley squad from last season having since left the club following relegation.

The likes of Martin Dubravka, Jaidon Anthony, Loum Tchaouna, Maxime Esteve, Florentino, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Quilindschy Hartman have all departed since the Clarets' return to the Championship.

Despite this, of the team that started against West Ham on the opening day, only Alleyne and Raghouber have been signed under Hayen's watch, whilst Amos is firmly a backup option behind Max Weiss.

Regula would provide another option for the likes of Marcus Edwards on the right flank, and Aaron Ramsey through the middle, and at 19, he could grow into an exceptional player at Turf Moor.

Despite his age, Regula has already nearly amassed a half-century of appearances for Zagłębie Lubin, and whilst he may not be an automatic first choice upon his move to Lancashire, he will certainly provide stern competition for Hayen to consider.

How have Burnley fans reacted to Marcel Regula links?

With the news of Burnley preparing a formal offer for Regula, Clarets supporters have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the potential move.

This Burnley fan is clear in their stance on a move for Regula, and would only like to see him at the club if they are 100 per cent committed to the cause.

The Polish league has produced some incredible talent over the years, and Regula could be the next on the conveyor belt.
