The CAF has unveiled its shortlist of ten nominees for the African Goalkeeper of the Year 2025 award—a category that brings together experience, consistency, and the rise of new talent. Leading the pack, Yassine Bounou (Morocco/Al Hilal) stands out as the favorite after a sensational season in Saudi Arabia and with his national team, once again demonstrating his reliability and making crucial saves on the big stage.

Chasing him is Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns), last year’s winner and still a dominant force on the continental stage, along with Stanley Nwabali (Nigeria/Chippa United), the breakout star of the last AFCON tournament.
