Grêmio expect Diego Caito, Dodi, Kannemann and Marlon to be in contention for the first match after the international break, away to Remo on 7 October in Pará.

According to Globo.com, players undergoing physiotherapy are returning to the training ground on Wednesday to advance their recovery during the FIFA window, and the rest of the squad will reassemble on Thursday after the schedule was brought forward at Renato Portaluppi’s request.

Marlon sustained a grade two injury to the rectus femoris in his right thigh and has missed the past four matches. Diego Caito sat out the Palmeiras game with a grade one collateral ligament injury to his knee. Their places were taken by Pedro Gabriel and João Pedro respectively.

Kannemann has been dealing with muscle discomfort and was unavailable for the last two fixtures. He had been due to start against Botafogo but was withdrawn at the last moment, and did not make the squad to face Palmeiras.

Dodi has been sidelined the longest, last featuring on 16 August when he started in the defeat to Atlético-MG. The club said he suffered a right knee injury, an avulsion to the patella. The midfielder aims to rejoin group training during the break and be in contention against Remo, and he will be reassessed in the coming days.
