Real Madrid almost made a mess of a 3-1 lead handed to them by Kylian Mbappe, but eventually went on to register a 4-3 win over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League last night.
Playing away from home once again, Los Blancos were aiming to end their poor run of form that included two draws and a defeat in their last three games. The win ended that streak but it is clear that there is still much to improve.
What the men in white will count, however, is just the three points and the comfort that comes with it on the UEFA Champions League leaderboard.
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga spoke to the media after the game and began by giving his overall thoughts on the result.
“We won and scored a lot of goals. We’ll take today’s victory. It’s always good to win.”
“The last few games haven’t been so good because we didn’t win. The team must keep this mentality and continue like this,” he added.
Praising his compatriot Kylian Mbappe for once again leading the team’s scoring, Camavinga said,
“He always scores. He didn’t score for three matches and now he’s scored four, so we’re going to forget about those last three matches. I’m delighted for him. He helps us a lot and he’s a great player.”
Finally, the player was asked about what the team had as their objectives for the coming weeks, and he referred to continuing the winning streak as the principal goal.
“The most important thing for us is to win every match. Today we took a step forward and we’re going to keep going like this.”

Fellow French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni also spoke to the media after the game and echoed Camavinga’s thoughts on the result.
“We’re happy. It was crucial to win this game, especially if we want to finish in the top eight.”
“We have to keep going like this. Not everything will be perfect, but it’s better to go home with three more points,” he added.
When asked about his fitness, the midfielder revealed that he was still not at his very best in terms of physical sensations, having missed the last two games with injury.
“I’m fine. I’m not 100%, but I’m slowly getting back to my best. I tried to give everything to help the team today.”
“The most important thing is to get the three points and we have to keep it up,” he added.
Finally, Tchouameni spoke on Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.’s performance and role in defining the victory.
