Yassine Bounou joins the top 5 'invincible' goalkeepers in the AFCON

Morocco secured their place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Cameroon (2-0) on Friday night in Rabat.

This qualification was sealed, notably thanks to another clean sheet from Yassine Bounou. The Atlas Lions' goalkeeper kept his net untouched for the fourth time in this tournament.

Already “invincible” against Comoros (2-0), Zambia (1-0), and Tanzania (1-0), he again refused to concede against the Indomitable Lions. The only goal he has allowed in this tournament came against Mali (1-1) on matchday two.

Thanks to this outstanding run, he now enters the Top 5 goalkeepers with the most clean sheets in AFCON history. This elite list is led by Egyptian shot-stopper Essam El Hadary (14 clean sheets), followed by Ivorian Boubacar Copa (11).
