The race to host CAN 2028 has reached a decisive turning point. According to Ghanaian journalist Micky Jnr, the Confederation of African Football has officially received three bids to host this edition, which is considered strategic in the recent history of the tournament.
Morocco is in the running, as is a joint bid from South Africa and Botswana. Ethiopia completes the shortlist, with a proposal that is also attracting attention across the continent.

Still according to Micky Jnr, the CAF Executive Committee is set to meet this Friday in Dar Es-Salaam to announce the host nation. This is a landmark decision, as CAN 2028 will be the last to follow the biennial format before the switch to a four-year cycle, which was approved last December.
