Signed by Flamengo in 2024, forward Carlinhos is close to a move to Japan after struggling to establish himself and being repeatedly loaned out. He is currently at Remo, who do not plan to keep him beyond his loan.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Cuiabá have shown interest in the striker, but his priority is a move abroad and his representatives say an agreement with a Japanese club is being finalised.
If the Asian transfer does not materialise, his future could become a saga. He remains under contract with Flamengo until December, Remo want to send him back and Flamengo have already said they will not take him.
A potential solution is for his agents to persuade Flamengo to terminate his deal for the remaining six months. Should they succeed and the Japan move fall through, he would be free to sign for Cuiabá without a fee.
After shining in the Campeonato Carioca for Nova Iguaçu, Carlinhos joined Flamengo in 2024. With few chances, he went to Vitória on loan last year, making 23 appearances and scoring four goals. Still out of Flamengo’s plans, he moved to Remo in 2026, where he has six outings, one goal and one assist in Belém.
