According to La Colina De Nervion, Levante playmaker Carlos Álvarez is close to joining Club América in a deal worth around €6m. Sevilla would receive roughly €2m thanks to a retained 30 percent share of his rights.

The Mexican club are expected to pay €5m fixed plus about €1m in add-ons. Álvarez is lined up for a three-year contract, although the move is not yet official.

Sevilla had considered re-signing him, either now or as a free agent at the end of his Levante deal, and the player had weighed returning to Nervión. América’s proposal has convinced Levante and the midfielder, cooling any immediate comeback.

Álvarez no longer appears on Levante’s official LaLiga squad page. The Mexican transfer window remains open until 11 September, so the remaining details could be settled before a formal announcement.

Developed at Sevilla since 2011, he made 84 outings for Sevilla Atlético, scoring on his first-team debut in the Copa del Rey and featuring in LaLiga in 2022/23. He joined Levante in August 2023 on a free and was instrumental in their promotion, delivering seven goals and 11 assists in 2024/25 before impressing in the top flight.
