Valencia CF have moved to protect their goalkeeping options after Julen Agirrezabala’s injury and Cristian Rivero’s sanction. According to Superdeporte, Carlos Corberán has adopted a zero-risk plan and told Vicent Abril not to play for Valencia Mestalla until further notice.

As a result, Abril did not feature against Barbastro this weekend at the Antonio Puchades. Miguel Ángel Angulo started Pere Joan, the third goalkeeper, with Raúl Jiménez sidelined.

On Saturday, Abril was on the Mestalla bench for Valencia CF’s win over RCD Espanyol, watching another strong display from Stole Dimitrievski, who has taken his chance since Agirrezabala’s setback.

The academy graduate is regarded as a goalkeeper with a bright future at the club.

He has represented Spain at youth level and has impressed for Valencia Mestalla so far this season.
