André Carrillo has experienced fluctuations since left ankle surgery, and is nearing six months without completing a full match.

Since playing all 90 minutes against Botafogo on 26 July 2025 in the Brasileiro’s 17th round, the Peruvian midfielder has featured in 17 games without finishing any, starting 11 and coming on in six. According to Globo.com, he is considered physically able to complete 90 minutes.

He missed two and a half months with a ligament injury that required surgery, then returned ahead of schedule and has played 14 times since. Initial minutes were managed, but recent selections have been technical choices amid wider conditioning concerns acknowledged by manager Dorival Júnior.

In the clássico with São Paulo, Carrillo did not track Danielzinho closely, allowing a cross that Tápia headed in for São Paulo’s goal. He started and was replaced after 19 minutes of the second half by debutant Matheus Pereira. The Majestoso finished 1-1.

Dorival also said he had not offered Carrillo in talks with São Paulo while pursuing Alisson. Corinthians face Santos at Vila Belmiro on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time in the fourth round of the Campeonato Paulista.
