Castellón’s squad cost limit rises to 15.433m, sixth in Segunda | OneFootball

CD Castellón’s financial firepower has jumped for 2026/27. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, LaLiga has set the club’s squad cost limit at 15.433 million euros, the sixth highest in Segunda División.

The figure is up 3.873 million on March 2026’s 11.56 million, a 33.5% rise in six months. Castellón move from eighth to sixth, helped by stronger revenues and Álex Calatrava’s transfer to Espanyol.

Only Girona on 35.088 million, Mallorca on 34.697, Leganés on 20.770, Oviedo on 20.767 and Las Palmas on 17.149 sit above them.

The club stood at roughly 11.3 million in September 2025 before this larger leap. Calatrava left for more than 5 million euros, above his clause thanks to flexible payment terms, a club-record sale after arriving from Atlético Madrid on a free in summer 2024.

He delivered 75 appearances, 21 goals and 19 assists, central to survival in 2024/25 and the following play-off push.
