Levante manager sends warning to Barcelona ahead of La Liga clash: ‘We will play to win’ | OneFootball

Barcelona will be looking to make it five wins in five in La Liga as they take on Levante tomorrow afternoon.

The Catalans are coming on the back of four back to backs to start the league, during which the club have scored 17 goals.

Levante, though, are determined to avoid another show of dominance from Barcelona, with coach Luis Castro already sounding a warning.

What Castro said ahead of Barcelona clash

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Castro said Levante will be ready to take on Barcelona.

“We have to be in our best version, we play the same league as them and we have to be in a maximum concentration, at the best level and we have to try to hurt them where you can do it. The match starts zero to zero, eleven against eleven,” he said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

The Levante coach added that the team will be determined to win, despite Barcelona’s free-scoring form so far, with the Catalans scoring five goals even in the Champions League game against Feyenoord in midweek.

“As all matches we prepare to win, there are no easy matches in LaLiga and Barcelona is one of the best in the world, but we will play to win, to do our best and try to give our fans more joy in our stadium,” he added.

Castro urges support from fans

The Levante coach, however, did admit the difficultly of the clash, especially given the way Barcelona have performed this season so far.

“All rivals have their strengths. With Barça you have to be focused and attentive. If you want to win you have to try to remove the maximum potential of the opponent,” he said.

The Spaniard went on to urge for support from the home crowd, knowing it will play a key role in solidifying the morale of the group.

“The fans are always with us, we have played with one more and that gives us strength. We will suffer for sure at times, but if we are more than 20,000 suffering it is better than suffering only the eleven of the field and those of the bench and the coaching staff.

“Here we are stronger and it is a match that we know will help us from the outside,” he said.

Levante have started the season with one win in four matches and five points on the board.

Finally, Castro confirmed that he is fully focused on the game and does not plan to rest any players.

“We have to think about this game because if you think about the others you don’t win this one and maybe you don’t win the others. We have to think about this game,” he concluded.
