The CBF has released the VAR audio from a stoppage-time incident that would have given Palmeiras the lead. It came in the 1-1 draw with Santos at Allianz Parque in the 14th round on Saturday.
The on-field decision was goal, then review officials flagged a possible handball in the immediate build-up. Referee Raphael Claus went to the monitor to check the phase before the ball crossed the line.
Audio from the booth captures discussion over touches by Paulinho and Arias and whether any player was interfering from an offside position. The focus then shifted to a potential handball by Arias just before the final touch.
After the VAR team identified contact with the arm, an on-field review was recommended. Claus viewed the replays, concluded the ball struck Arias’s hand, and overturned the original decision.
The full exchange has been made available. Diego Pombo Lopez was VAR, with Fabricio Porfirio de Moura as AVAR.
