CD Castellón have again surged past the 10-signing barrier in another summer rebuild, with 11 additions already by four August.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Voulgaris era has shown a knack for renewal despite major exits, including Chirino, Jozhua, Crettaz and van Den Belt. Only four players remain from the 2023/24 promotion side, Alberto Jiménez, Israel Suero, Douglas Aurelio and Raúl Sánchez. Douglas arrived in winter and Raúl spent half of last season in Mexican football.

Last term brought 14 arrivals, with Raúl Sánchez and Álvaro García added in winter. The eventual play-off squad was overhauled with Adam Jakobsen, Fabrizio Brignani, Tincho, de Nipoti, Jeremy Mellot, Romain Matthys, Pablo Santiago, Lucas Alcázar, Diego Barri, Serpeta, Marc-Oliver Doué, Ronaldo Pompeu, Agustín Sienra and Beñat Gerenebarrena.

Nine of that intake still serve under Pablo Hernández. Several became central pieces, notably Jakobsen, Mellot, Alcázar, Barri, Pablo Santiago and Sienra.

This summer’s 11 new faces will again lean on Big Data to make an impact. Some are seen as important from day one, others will need longer to adapt. The aim is not to feel the absence of Álex Calatrava, Gerenabarrena or Brian Cipenga.
