Everton Cebolinha is closing in on a move away from Flamengo, with Botafogo now the leading destination. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Rio club have accepted his salary demand.

The forward asked for R$ 1.5 million per month, and a meeting on Wednesday 2 September is viewed as crucial to finalise his exit.

Before Botafogo entered pole position, Krasnodar were close to a deal, but a request for R$ 2.5 million per month prompted the Russian side to step back.

Other Brazilian and overseas clubs also showed interest, yet his wage expectations proved the main stumbling block. Cebolinha is in the final months of a contract that expires in December, and since early 2026 he has made clear he would not renew.

Even so, he remains available to coach Leonardo Jardim. In the derby against Botafogo on Sunday 30, he came on in the second half and set up Carrascal at the Maracanã.

Flamengo now prepare to face Mirassol on Wednesday 2 September in a rearranged Brasileirão fixture at the Maracanã, kick-off 19:30 Brasília time.
