Éverton Cebolinha has entered the final six months of his Flamengo contract and is free to sign a pre-contract elsewhere, but interest within Brazil has cooled over his salary.
According to Globo.com, Brazilian Série A sides including Fluminense and Corinthians explored a deal but stepped back because the wages were viewed as too high. Attempts to reduce the figure in talks have so far failed.
The salary level is seen as difficult for clubs without the financial clout of Flamengo or Palmeiras. While his future is considered, the winger remains focused on Flamengo’s commitments. Further enquiries could follow as the season nears its end.
Cebolinha has said he does not expect to remain next season and, in February, noted that the board had not approached him about a renewal. He is yet to decide on his next club despite being able to sign now.
He last featured in the 1-1 draw with São Paulo at the Maracanã on 26 July. Signed from Benfica in 2022, he has made 190 appearances for Flamengo, scoring 21 goals with 25 assists.
