Celta are trimming their squad while keeping André Almeida in their sights as the summer window nears its close. Departures are needed to free space in the middle and up front.
Claudio Giráldez wants further additions, particularly in midfield and attack, with the club set for a return to Europe. According to Superdeporte, Celta still have work to do on both arrivals and exits before September.
André Almeida is among their targets. The Portuguese is open to staying in LaLiga after halting a switch to Swansea when Valencia and the Welsh club were close to agreement. Valencia are reluctant to let him join a LaLiga rival, and any deal would start above three and a half million euros.
Space is tight, so Celta are seeking solutions for Ilaix Moriba and Matías Vecino. Moriba, formerly of Valencia, is among the highest earners and the club hope to secure a strong fee.
There appears to be movement on departures, with indications that Vecino could leave, as the club explore options that suit both parties. That would unlock further business beyond Almeida, including interest in Viktor Tsygankov, who is sanctioned and at odds with Girona after refusing to play their Segunda División opener against Leganés. Valencia are awaiting developments in Vigo.
