Celtic have been dealt a positive update regarding star defender Cameron Carter-Vickers. The USA International suffered an Achilles injury in the closing stages of the win over Strum Graz, which proved to be Brendan Rodgers’ last at Celtic Park.

The injury is set to sideline CCV until at least April after he was forced to go under the knife in early November. Hopes of making Maurico Pochettino’s World Cup squad will be slim for the central defender but he will be hoping to get himself back before the end of the season in order to force his way into contention.

US journalist Larry Henry Jnr has provided a positive update on the player’s condition, revealing that his recovery is going well.

Since signing from Spurs in 2021, initially on a loan deal, CCV has been a vital part of Celtic’s success under Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers. He will be preparing for life under a new manager after missing the disastrous reign of Wilfried Nancy; however, he was pitch side for some of Nancy’s most brutal results.

CCV has been spotted at games still wearing a protective boot as he recovers from his injury. It may be that he is ramping up his recovery, which could result in him being back in action during the title run in but it remains to be seen.
