Kyogo Furuhashi has been linked with a move away from Birmingham City just weeks after a return to Celtic was suggested. The Japanese striker has failed to find his best form with Chris Davies’ Championship outfit, prompting suggestions he could make way this window.

Football Insider reports that Swansea are interested in bringing the 31-year-old attacker into their squad this winter.

The deal is estimated to be unlikely to go through as wages are a stumbling block. Although, a move would see a reunion with ex-Celtic attacker Adam Idah.

Idah joined The Swans in the summer after Brendan Rodgers said that he wouldn’t be sold unless a replacement was in the building.

Kyogo was linked with a move back this month but the trail went cold with the player keen to remain in Birmingham.

Since leaving Celtic, Kyogo has been to Rennes and Birmingham but struggled to make an impact like he did at Celtic Park.

After Brendan’s first season, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Pep Guardiola’s Man City were considering the Japanese striker with a fee of £15m suggested for the player. No move came to fruition but a number of links followed, suggesting that the player was keen on an exit.

This move was forthcoming last January as Kyogo left after Celtic secured passage to the UEFA Champions League knockouts with a tense 1-0 win over Young Boys. Kyogo was unlucky not to find his name on the scoresheet that night but was at his menacing best. Celtic, meanwhile, did not buy a replacement for him leaving Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda to lead the line.
