Chalobah and Palmer strike as Sheffield Wednesday leave West Bromwich Albion 21st

Sheffield Wednesday beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at Hillsborough, with first half goals securing the points as the visitors dropped to 21st in the Championship.
In the 36th minute Nathaniel Chalobah turned in from close range after a set piece. Liam Palmer added a second with a left footed finish following a corner (40.).
Max O'Leary kept West Bromwich Albion in it with smart saves either side of the interval, notably stopping Tayo Adaramola before the break. He also denied Olaf Kobacki during second half stoppage time.
After the restart James Morrison introduced Daryl Dike and Karlan Ahearne-Grant. The latter halved the deficit from close range after a set piece (82.).
There was a lengthy pause late on as Palmer received treatment before departing in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time.
The Owls posted 11 attempts and 38.2% possession, making their first half edge count. West Bromwich Albion had 61.8% of the ball and 13 attempts but could not force an equaliser.
The Owls finish 24th in the Championship.
