‘Champions League is our competition’ – PSG head coach Luis Enrique bullish ahead of Tottenham Hotspur home game | OneFootball

PSG head coach Luis Enrique expects a strong showing from his side against Tottenham Hotspur in Matchday 5 of the Champions League. The Spaniard has called on Les Parisiens to put a more convincing performance against Thomas Frank’s Spurs tonight than last summer, when the Champions League winners struggled to overcome a 2-0 deficit before winning on penalties against the Europa League champions for the UEFA Super Cup.

“Because it ended well, it’s a good memory, but also a bad one if I recall the first 60 minutes“, the former FC Barcelona and AS Roma manager said. “Tottenham are still unbeaten in the Champions League. Most of their players are internationals. They’re a strong side.” 

Luis Enrique has also called on his players to bounce back after PSG’s first home loss of the season against Bayern Munich three weeks ago, and to show that the Champions League still belongs to them. “You feel that, for us, it’s a different game and a different competition. It’s our competition, we’re the holders and we want to continue on our journey.”
