The Opta supercomputer has made its predictions for the 2025-26 Champions League, finding Liverpool to be the favourites, but it’s not reassuring for Inter, Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta.

There are four Italian sides in the tournament this season, as Serie A lost its coveted fifth slot to the Premier League and LaLiga.

Inter got all the way to the Final last term, their second in just three years, but were beaten 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain.

Champions League odds do not favour Italian teams

With a change of coach and few real reinforcements this summer, the Opta supercomputer gives the Nerazzurri just a 3% chance of winning the tournament.

That still puts them in ninth place alongside Newcastle United, well ahead of the other Italian entries.

Napoli come in 12th with a 1.4% chance of victory, while Juventus and Atalanta are in 19th and 20th place with just a 0.6% chance of lifting the silverware.

The overall favourites in these calculations are Liverpool, who are given a 20.4% chance of winning, followed by Arsenal on 16% and reigning champions PSG on 12.1%.

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s Manchester City come in fourth with an 8.4% chance, the same as Barcelona.
