Leicester City hope to have players back for Saturday's trip to Stockport County after a 4-0 loss to Oxford United left them 17th in League One. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, several returnees are being monitored this week.
Conor Chaplin featured against Ipswich and MK Dons before a recurrence of the issue that sidelined him at the start of the season. He missed the win over Plymouth and the Oxford game and could be involved at Stockport, though Martin said a return next week looked more likely. The expected return listed is Stockport away on Saturday 12th September.
Caleb Okoli was back on the grass last week after four games out. The defender could be back at Stockport, though his return date remains unclear.
New signing John Lundstram did not make the squad at the weekend and, after a slow pre-season, Martin indicated he must build fitness. No return date has been set.
Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has sustained an ACL injury and is set to miss the rest of the season, with Alex McCarthy starting that game. Centre-back Ben Nelson suffered an ACL in pre-season and has been sidelined since the start of August, with his return also expected at season's end.
Russell Martin will hold his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, when an update on the squad is anticipated before the visit to Edgeley Park on Saturday.
