Chelsea have joined the race to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers this summer, according to The Athletic.

The Blues are in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, and the 23-year-old could be a dream signing for new manager Xabi Alonso.

The England international has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time, and they are preparing to intensify their efforts to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea could do with some fresh attacking recruits following a forgettable campaign where they failed to qualify for Europe.

They wrapped up their miserable campaign with just one win in their final nine games of the season, suffering a horrendous seven defeats in that stretch (D1).

Rogers has been a phenomenal signing for Villa since joining from Middlesbrough in January 2024.

The ‘hard-working‘ Englishman has established himself as one of the most influential attacking players in the Premier League over the past couple of years.

He played a massive role in Villa’s top-five finish, netting ten goals and weighing in with a further seven assists in 37 Premier League games.

Rogers was also key to Villa’s Europa League-winning campaign, bagging three goals and five assists in 15 games, including a sublime strike in the 3-0 final victory over SC Freiburg.

Chelsea have been keeping an eye on his development and are confident that their absence from Europe will not stop them from signing him.

Villa may already be resigned to losing Rogers this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United also linked with a move.

However, Villa will demand a mind-boggling transfer fee before cutting him loose, considering he still has five years left on his contract.
