Chelsea confirm Shakhtar Donetsk to host Champions League home ties at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea said on Friday afternoon that Shakhtar Donetsk will stage their Champions League home matches at Stamford Bridge this season.

The Ukrainian club are unable to host fixtures on home soil because of Russia’s war on Ukraine, ongoing since February 2022.

Chelsea have made their London stadium available, an arrangement made possible by the Blues not qualifying for European competition this season.

Shakhtar have previously designated home games in Hamburg, Germany, and in Warsaw, Poland.

The plan applies to Shakhtar’s home dates in the Champions League this season.
