Barcelona’s search for an attacking reinforcement has taken a new turn, and according to a recent report from Fichajes, Pedro Neto has emerged as one of the club’s primary targets.

The update places the Chelsea forward right at the centre of the Catalan club’s sporting plans, with the coaching staff and sporting department seeing him as a player who could immediately elevate the front line.

As outlined in the report, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is convinced that the Portuguese winger possesses the exact qualities the team has been lacking.

What makes him special?

Within the club, there is a growing belief that his playing style fits perfectly with what the coaching staff is trying to implement.

Barcelona’s attack has been called out for being unpredictable, which the board believes Neto can address.

His blistering speed, dribbling, and natural link-up play in midfield are attributes that Deco considers essential for rebuilding an attack capable of stretching defensive lines.

For months now, Barcelona have been actively searching for a versatile forward who can seamlessly shift into different roles depending on the demands of the match.

Neto has stood out not only because of his adaptability but also because of the maturity he has begun to show.

The cost of signing Neto

As such, while Deco views him as a top player, turning this admiration into a concrete move remains complicated.

This is because Barcelona are still dealing with financial restrictions that make big-money transfers difficult to execute.

And the biggest obstacle sits firmly in London. Chelsea paid close to €60 million to secure Neto, and with his impressive form this season, the English side now see him as a key piece in Enzo Maresca’s plans.

The report adds that any negotiation would begin at more than €80 million, a figure far beyond what Barcelona can currently commit to unless they sanction significant sales or restructure their internal wage bill.

For now, the interest is genuine, the fit is ideal, but the finances tell a very different story.
