In a recent report, Foot Mercato claimed that Chelsea have joined the race for Lille midfielder Lamine Camara. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to compete with Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign the Senegalese talent this summer.
Camara enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign when he produced a series of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old made 24 league appearances for Monaco last season, scoring three times and picking up three assists.
The Senegal international is currently one of the most gifted young central midfielders in Ligue 1. Thus, it is no surprise that the Blues are in the mix to sign him in this transfer period.
His current contract at Monaco will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap this month.

Camara is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some crucial interceptions for his team in the middle of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer as well from midfield.
The Senegalese sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his side going forward. Camara is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to snap him up in this transfer period.
We can expect Camara to add more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting role at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.
At 22, the future looks quite promising for Camara as long as he continues to improve with each year. Hence, the Blues should focus on bringing him on board this summer.
