Chelsea interested in Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix | OneFootball

Chelsea are interested in a move to sign Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix (26), according to a report from The Athletic.

It was reported by RMC Sport at the end of May that the Crystal Palace centre-back would leave Selhurst Park this summer. 

Whilst his contract runs until 2029, Crystal Palace are aware that it will be difficult to keep the defender. The player himself now harbours ambitions of playing UEFA Champions League football, which Crystal Palace cannot offer. Chelsea cannot offer that either next summer, but they have registered their interest in the France international, who is currently at the FIFA World Cup. 

RMC Sport added that Crystal Palace had set a €40m price tag. They are, however, under no pressure to sell and can offer UEFA Europa League football for next season. They would consider a deal but only at the right price and only after identifying his successor, The Athletic understands.
