Chelsea have submitted a bid for Lamine Camara (22) worth €45m, as per a report from Fabrizio Romano. That figure does not meet the Principality club’s valuation of the Senegal international.
This is a deal that may go right down to the wire. It had been reported on Monday that the Blues’ interest in the Monaco midfielder had cooled due to a lack of progress in club-to-club talks. Concurrently, it was reported that Chelsea had a strong interest in France international Manu Koné. However, their attention may have now turned back to Camara and in a very concrete way.
Romano understands that a bid worth €45m has been officially submitted to Monaco. That figure falls short of Les Monégasques’ valuation. The Ligue 1 club are keen to retain the midfielder, who has enjoyed an excellent start to the season and has quickly endeared himself to Filipe Luís. Camara, open to staying at Monaco, is also not opposed to moving to Stamford Bridge.
