Chelsea face AC Milan in their next pre-season fixture on Saturday evening in Indonesia.

Xabi Alonso's side will be hoping to get back to winning ways after consecutive defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, which have dented the mood.

The narrow defeats mean Chelsea have won just one pre-season match whilst on their tour of Australia and Asia, which came in a 6-4 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

But Alonso won't be alarmed since it is pre-season. Despite wanting the victories, the Chelsea boss is more focused on performances, getting his approach and ideas across and understood by his new squad.

They come up against an AC Milan side who have drawn both of their pre-season matches so far, against Celtic and Inter Milan, so both sides will be keen to claim victory.

Chelsea were without Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer for the Juventus defeat. Alonso confirmed they opted to leave the pair out as a precaution. Both will be hoping to play some part on Saturday.

Robert Sanchez and Mike Penders were hailed pre-match by Alonso, who gave them both 45 minutes against Juventus. They will likely be offered the same chance in Jakarta as the Chelsea boss settles on his preferred number one.

Pedro Neto will be keen to get his first minutes of pre-season after linking up with the squad. Geovany Quenda impressed against Juventus and Alonso is likely to give him another chance to shine.

Jamie Gittens has shone in pre-season so far, giving Alonso a decision to make over his preferred attacking lineup given the available options for the new season.

Alonso could look to give Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk a larger runout against the Rossoneri. After his summer arrival, Danny Welbeck is continuing to get up to speed under Alonso.

Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli, 16, has impressed after being given the chance by Alonso. He will be desperate to continue his pre-season form.
