Chivas is looking to extend their perfect start in the Clausura 2026 this Friday against Mazatlán FC, aiming for a fifth straight win to stay on top of the standings. El Rebaño have become a very tough team to face on the road, having won 6 of their last 8 away matches, and will look to back up their dominance over the Cañoneros in the Pearl of the Pacific by adding three more points to their tally.

The history between Guadalajara side and the Sinaloa club is still relatively short, but it clearly leans Rojiblanco. In 11 all-time meetings, Chivas have come out on top six times, while Mazatlán have claimed two wins, with three matches ending in draws.

When the matchup takes place at El Encanto Stadium, the numbers are much more even. Both teams have recorded one win apiece, along with three draws, making this a great chance for Gabriel Milito’s side to tip the balance in their favor.

From an attacking standpoint, Chivas have consistently delivered against the purple-clad side. Guadalajara outfit have scored at least once in every meeting of the series and kept a clean sheet in four of those games. Overall, Chivas boast 20 goals scored and 11 conceded, a goal difference that reflects how this rivalry has played out so far.

The two biggest wins in the history of the matchup belong to El Rebaño: a 4–1 victory on Matchday 17 of the Clausura 2023 and a 3–0 win on Matchday 1 of the Clausura 2022. It’s also worth noting that the first-ever Liga MX meeting between the two came on September 26, 2020, at Estadio AKRON, where Chivas earned a 2–1 win and set the tone for the rivalry.

Since Mazatlán FC joined Liga MX, several players have worn both jerseys, including Ricardo Marín, Sergio Flores, Luis Olivas, José Madueña and Eduardo Torres.
