The expected move of Alejandro Zendejas from Necaxa to América will reportedly lead to a financial windfall for Chivas.
Zendejas spent four years at the Estadio Akron after his 2016 switch from FC Dallas.
However the 23-year-old made little impact in Guadalajara, racking up just 23 appearances during his time with Los Rojiblancos (per Transfermarkt).
The versatile midfielder’s career has taken an upward trajectory since he linked up with Necaxa, though, so much so that he is all but certain to sign with América in the coming days.
If there is any ill-feeling on Chivas’ part, it should be tempered by the cash they will receive if the deal is completed.
According to TUDN, a 50% sell-on clause was negotiated by Chivas when they allowed Zendejas to depart for Los Rayos.
It would no doubt be a welcome injection of funds for the financially-challenged Flock.
