América’s ins and outs for Clausura 2026 so far

Club América’s window began slowly, with only one marquee arrival and two depth additions, drawing heavy criticism from supporters. Important players had gone and, with no replacements in, the team looked weaker than last season, though late activity has started to round out the squad.

According to Americayya.net, Rodrigo Dourado has joined from San Luis to reinforce defensive midfield, a department considered thin with only Alan Cervantes and Santiago Naveda, players not seen as starter level for América. Goalkeeper Fernando Tapia returns from Tigres after spells elsewhere, for now third choice, with the idea he starts in the Liguilla and becomes number two from the next tournament.

Aarón Mejía arrives from Xolos to cover right-back if Kevin Álvarez is unavailable or on national-team duty, a signing that prompted questions given he was not a starter. Raphael Veiga comes in from Palmeiras and, while arriving on a downward curve, is still viewed as a high-level addition for Liga MX. It remains very likely that at least one more player will come in, ideally a foreign centre forward.

On exits, Javairo Dilrosun has agreed to terminate his contract after six months without playing. A move to Colo Colo is very advanced for Víctor Dávila, although official confirmation is still pending.

Igor Lichnovsky’s situation is unresolved, with no clarity yet on a departure or contract termination, and there are rumours that if two foreign players leave he could be registered. There is also uncertainty over Pantera Zúñiga, with an intention to move him on but no concrete agreement with any club.
