Christopher Nkunku will return to Leipzig from AC Milan on loan, aiming to revive his form after playing only 1,500 minutes last season.

According to L'Équipe, the France international, 28, joins on a paid loan worth €3m that includes a €30m option to buy. He has 18 caps and two goals.

Nkunku struggled to establish himself at Milan despite eight goals and three assists. He had been placed in the Rossoneri's loft and needed a way out.

He knows Leipzig well, having enjoyed his best spell there between 2019 and 2023, delivering 70 goals and 56 assists.

Chelsea paid €60m for him in 2023, before he moved to Lombardy last summer for €37m.
