‘Clowns’ – Real Madrid superstar lashes out at referees during 2-0 win over Valencia | OneFootball

Kylian Mbappe was one of the stars for Real Madrid as they secured a 2-0 win over Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday night.

The French superstar was once again on target for Los Blancos, finding the back of the net in stoppage time, after Alvaro Carreras had handed them the lead, to seal the victory.

Mbappe has now scored in six games straight, taking his tally for the season to 38 goals in 31 matches in all competitions.

Mbappe’s frustration towards referees

On what was a pleasant evening, there was a moment during the game against Valencia when Mbappe lost his cool and exploded at the fourth official.

Almost at the end of the first half, Mbappe was flagged offside after receiving the ball following a clearance by the Valencia defence.

The French forward did not understand why the decision had been given and, at half-time, asked the fourth official for an explanation.

As captured by DAZN cameras, Mbappe said to the fourth official: “How can that be offside? I need an explanation.”

The fourth official replied: “It looks forced on camera, I’m sorry, discuss it inside.” 

The French player accepted that proposal. “Okay, let’s go inside and you can explain it to me, because I don’t understand.”

Once inside, in the players’ tunnel, the Frenchman again asked the referee for explanations, but received no response, sparking frustration.

“You tell me to talk and you don’t even look at me… honestly. You tell me to talk inside and I’m inside and you don’t speak to me,” he said to the referee.

Seeing that the fourth official wasn’t paying attention to him, Mbappe turned to his teammate Eduardo Camavinga and said in French: “Clowns, referees.”

The Real Madrid megastar was constantly targeted by Valencia fans, who kept chanting “Mbappe, son of a b****”. But the forward kept his cool in those moments and let his game on the pitch do the talking.
