Club Brugge have seemingly changed their position on striker Nicolo Tresoldi, with clubs like Manchester United monitoring developments.

With less than a week left until the close of the summer window, there remains a chance that United could dip into the market for a striker. It all depends on what happens with Joshua Zirkzee.

The speculation surrounding Zirkzee’s next move shows no signs of abating, with a Serie A return emerging as a genuine possibility. The Italian trio of Juventus, Napoli, and Fiorentina have all been credited with an interest in the striker.

Aston Villa are also believed to have launched an enquiry for the Dutchman, who was overlooked by Michael Carrick last weekend as United slipped to a 2-0 opening day loss to Premier League newcomers Hull City.

In the event that Zirkzee leaves, United will be compelled to source a successor,and Tresoldi is understood to be a target. The talisman enjoyed a productive season with Brugge last year and has continued in similar vein, registering goals in all four competitive appearances for the club thus far in the current campaign.

AS Roma lodged a bid for him weeks ago, which was immediately turned down by Brugge. Brugge have firmly rejected any notion of a sale, insisting that Tresoldi is not available for transfer at any price.

However, it has now emerged that they have put a price tag on the German as interest in his signature mounts.

Tresoldi U-turn

According to Sport [via Bulinews], Brugge would be willing to sanction Tresoldi’s exit for around €50m.

An exit is still on the table, but only if his valuation is met. The Roma bid that was rejected was worth €35m.

In addition to United and Roma, other clubs keeping tabs on the 22-year-old are Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Barcelona look the most likely to ramp up their interest in Tresoldi, especially with their Julian Alvarez hopes now dangling by a thread.

Meanwhile, United are next in action on Sunday when they host Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
