FC Barcelona have a lot of catching up to do in various competitions, but they are starting to find their form again. Thus, now more determined than ever, La Blaugrana will be looking to win their upcoming game against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
However, with the Catalan giants travelling away from home for this game, they simply cannot afford to underestimate their opponents. It has cost them in the past, and they will want to avoid it happening again.
In terms of their form, Barça have shown some level of gradual improvement following their loss to Real Madrid in El Clasico. Following that game, they managed to outperform Elche and do so with a convincing enough scoreline. Moreover, their scoring streak remains strong and alive.
Without fault or pause, Hansi Flick’s team always somehow manages to find the back of the net. While that does not necessarily mean that they will win a game, it still shows their resilient offensive capability.
In terms of form, La Blaugrana have three wins and two losses over their last five games across all competitions. The wins came over Girona, Olympiacos, and Elche, while the losses were against Sevilla and Real Madrid.
As for their goalscoring form and defensive numbers, Barça has scored 13 goals in those five games and has conceded 9 goals in return. Even though their goalscoring form remains impressive, they also seem vulnerable at the back.
Their opponents, Club Brugge, have been enjoying a great run of form, on the other hand. With four wins and just one loss to Bayern Munich in their last five games, they are not a side to be underestimated.
They have scored 10 goals in those five games and have conceded six goals in return, with four of those goals having been conceded against Bayern. Either way, this showcases that this is a team that can hurt Barça but is also tough to break down normally.
Thus, it is essential that Hansi Flick’s team delivers a top performance and that the selection of players is correct. Barça really need the three points here, and Flick should be more than aware of that fact.
