Earlier this week, some defendants in the Commanderie attack case withdrew from appearing at the first appeal hearing in Aix-en-Provence, making the first-instance rulings final.

According to L'Équipe, Marseille supporters convicted in the “révolution des cyprès” case were due before the Aix-en-Provence appeal court on Monday and Tuesday. Those first-instance convictions date back more than five and a half years and ranged from six months suspended to three months in prison. A general withdrawal means the original judgment now stands.

The proceedings relate to the early 2021 attack on Marseille’s training centre, La Commanderie.

A separate appeal case from the same episode remains to be listed, focusing on association leaders, including Rachid Zeroual and Hamza Baggour.

That file is still awaiting a hearing date.
